Crafting a life of art and heart. Reflection on re-invention (and raiment). Last Saturday, I got to be part of Max Daniels' fabulous teleclass, Into the Closet. I'm still feeling marvelous little ripples from that experience. I love the notion that life shifts can happen, not only through making changes from the inside out, but from the outside in as well - or, perhaps best of all, through movement in both directions. Change my clothes, change my life. That's the core of it. That's most of it, really.

Crafting a life of art and heart. The world needs cool grownups. When I was eighteen and going off to college, my kid sister said to me, "Just promise me you'll never grow up.". About eighteen years after that, while in the midst of juggling graduate studies, clinical work, family and creative projects, I gave my sister a call. I told her, "I think I need you to release me from that promise. ". Everyone else knows how to.Everyone else knows all about.Everyone else understands. What are we afraid of?

Crafting a life of art and heart. 1 I have come to really like cooking, and I made two delicious dinners for my family this week. 2 It won't be my turn to cook dinner again until next week. 3 I could offer. To cook dinner sooner, though, and my offer would probably be welcome. 4 It will feel good to rest my head on my silk pillowcase tonight. 5 There is cereal that I like in the pantry; I can have it for breakfast tomorrow morning. 9 I live with three people who are usually happy to give me hugs.

I check it off the list. I write another thing. Et cetera. I go through the whole day in this way. At the end of the day, I can see what I've done.
