K Walker Portfolio About
http://www.kathleenawalker.com/About.html
I am an artist who works with paper, paint, pencil and ink. I have pursued various art activities for most of my life. For about 20 years or so it was mainly quilting, first traditional quilts then slowly branching out into art quilts. A few of years ago I went back to school to study Art and so returned to my first love, drawing. I also acquired a DSLR camera so I have added photography to the mix. Visit my Facebook Fan. Page to view more of my photos. Nature in all its forms are my subjects.

Kat Walk Designs: January 2015
http://katwalkdesigns.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. Regarding Snow and some drawings. Not sure where I am going with these, for some reason they appeal to me at the moment. Maybe I have been looking at too many architectural details or too many Greek vases. I am not deliberately copying anything but I wouldn't be surprised to find they remind my viewers of something specific. I think that after Monday I will be just as happy if it decides to stop snowing for the rest of the winter, though it doesn't seem likely. For the recor...

Sunday, March 29, 2015. Nature Journal, Still Life and Madonna. For the moment I am all caught up with the Nature Journal drawings. Above is my last one and is for a visit to Daniel Webster in Sept 2013. I am happy to have finally finished these as they have been hanging over my head so to speak since I stop making notes on my visits to various locations. Is performance art, a singer selects a museum visitor, guides them to a chair that has been set up in one of the larger galleries and then sings to the...
Kat Walk Designs: MA Butterflies
http://katwalkdesigns.blogspot.com/p/ma-butterflies.html
American Painted Ladies are not normally MA butterflies, but some years they extend their range and we have them for visitors, these photos were made in 2012 when a lot of them came visiting. American Painted Lady - open wings. According to a book on Butterflies I recently read swallowtails are the oldest group of butterflies, the rest descended from them. They also tend to be larger butterflies, and some will hover while feeding from flowers so that they don't weigh them down. This is a very small butte...
Kat Walk Designs: July 2015
http://katwalkdesigns.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2015. Pen and Ink from Life, more studies. Still not totally displeased with how this came out. Drawn in one of my small sketchbooks directly with pen, no pencil involved. Drawn in my local city park, duck, a couple of geese, another park visitor, and a segment of distant shoreline. These drawings are more impressions than detailed studies. But hopefully doing them will help me keep my hand in, and even help me to improve at doing this type of drawing. But why do I draw what I draw?
Kat Walk Designs: April 2015
http://katwalkdesigns.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 30, 2015. Pen and Ink, eggs, bottles and doodles. For this image that I drew on Strathmore Toned Tan paper I used first a brown pen for the eggs and their speckles then added black for the plate and shadows. For the black I used one of my technical pens. Size is about 5 x 5.5 inches. I actually started this before I got sick and just finally got back to in the the past few days. Anyone in Boston in the next few months/weeks should plan a visit to the MFA, there is so much to see and admir...
Kat Walk Designs: May 2015
http://katwalkdesigns.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 22, 2015. Watercolor and more pen and ink. I did do a bit of pencil sketching prior to painting, then I added just a few pen lines to this piece. Peaking around corners seems to be the theme of these two drawings, and they have a certain amount of whimsy to them. Guess I had to get in my whimsy allotment for the month of May. Another of my pen exercises, using all of my Technical pen tips, told you I was going to revisit the stars in my last exercise, still not sure I am done with these.

Kat Walk Designs: Pen and Ink, Still Life, flower, and doodle
http://katwalkdesigns.blogspot.com/2015/06/pen-and-ink-still-life-flower-and-doodle.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Pen and Ink, Still Life, flower, and doodle. I am working on a watercolor, a not very good one at the moment but it isn't finished yet so I haven't given up hope. In the meantime I actually managed to finish a couple of pen drawings. The top two are both from WetCanvas Pen and Ink forum June Challenge photographs. We have been having a bit more rain the past couple of weeks, so not quite as much out and abouting for me, but I still manage most days to get in at least a mile walk if...

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. Westlife, la vida del oeste? Our first kiss happened on a "typical romantic" night out for dinner and then to watch "Ice age 3" in the cinema. After some gorgeous red wine and a shared dessert in an Italian restaurant in “Calle Pizarro” we went to the closest cinema in Calle Orbegoso just 2 blocks away from each other near the Plaza de Armas. How romantic is that? The next movie showing was like an hour and a half away but we didn't care at all! And many other things I loved w...

Kathleen Avins - Blog
Crafting a life of art and heart. November 10th, 2016. Today is a bread crumb day. I have those sometimes. They're helpful. Here's how they work:. I write down a thing I want to do. I do the thing. I check it off the list. I write another thing. Et cetera. I go through the whole day in this way. At the end of the day, I can see what I've done. This keeps me from getting overwhelmed, keeps me moving forward, keeps me clear. On the list unless I feel sure that I'm going to do it. That's important. Have man...

Kathleen Ayers, Amazon Best-Selling Author | Historically Hot Romance
Kathleen Ayers, Amazon Best-Selling Author. Kathleen Ayers loves romance, but found that some novels were too tame, others much too graphic and the rest just plain boring. She decided to write the kind of book she liked reading. A book with a smart, witty heroine and a not too perfect hero, who seduce each with their minds AND bodies. Kathleen Ayers lives in Houston, TX with her husband and son. She’s currently hard at work on the next Wickeds novel. 2 thoughts on “ Home. April 27, 2017 at 6:37 pm.
