Through the Viewfinder (TTV) photography. This is a relatively new kind of creative photography. With a modern camera the picture of the viewfinder of an older camera is photographed. The results are often special and have a quality of their own. Above the set of cameras, connected with a box to avoid light to spoil the image on the ground glass. The old camera is a No. 4 Zenith. No 4 Zenith, 1899. The old graveyard of Roermond, 2015. No 3 Kodak Special with plate back (1911-1914), October 12, 2015.

Eastman Interchangeable View (1886 - 1890). This camera was made in 12 different plate sizes, ranging from 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch to 20 x 24 inches. It is a rare instrument. The total production is only 404. The larger sizes are the rarest. The camera in the video is the 5 x8 inch model. Of this one 75 were made in 1887. The Eastman Interchangeable View was not a cheap camera. Without lens and shutter the smallest model cost $ 26. The largest one had a price tag of $ 100, without lens and shutter.

After the first World War the Hawkeye cameras were often used as premium or give away cameras by non-photographic manufacturers. Examples are Cadbury's Chocolades, Wright's Coal Tar Soap or the makers of Black Cat cigarettes. (If you are interested in this, get yourself a copy of the Colin Harding article What a give-away! They started in 1897 but I list them here because they are typical for the first decennium of the 20th century. No 4 Kodak (1889). This No. 4 is the biggest o. F the first series of Kodak cameras. The film holder can take spools for 48, 100 or 250 pictures of 4 x 5 inch (10 x 12,5 cm). The No. 4 Kodak was nevertheless a travelers camera, as he didn't need to change the 100 or 250 exposure film often. (To change the film the photographer needed to find a dark room to do so.).
