Lakeside Quilting

Sunday, November 16, 2014. November 16, 2014. Sweater knitting has been going very slowly. One of the side effects of being on pain medication all the time is a marked decrease in the ability to concentrate. Along with this comes trouble with following patterns. While not such a problem in quilting, it's been a huge problem with my knitting! Overall, there has been a lot more unknitting than there has been knitting! The Easy Peasy Sock. One of these days I'll head back into my sewing room. I miss it,...

Lakeside Quilting: January 2014

http://lakesidequilting.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 23, 2014. Life around Lakeside Quilting has been a whirlwind, I didn't mean to be away so long! So, what's been going on you ask? Well, right before Thanksgiving, The Boss and I took a little vacation to visit Grace at The Happiest Place on Earth, where she'd been working since June. The Boss and Grace. We were lucky enough to be there to see the Osbourne Family Lights.they were absolutely gorgeous! Hers is so much prettier! At Epcot, Mickey joined us for dinner at The Coral Reef. Then ...

Lakeside Quilting: March 2013

http://lakesidequilting.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Wishing all of you a very happy, blessed Easter. I love going to the Easter morning mass at our church, love the music and seeing all the little children dressed up in their adorable outfits. I miss those days! I was lucky enough to receive two copies of The Giving Quilt. I enjoyed this story! The Giving Quilt comes out in paperback on Tuesday. Links to this post. Friday, March 29, 2013. On The Needles Friday. The pattern is pretty easy, I just knit slowly! Links to this post.

Lakeside Quilting: Shop Cat Update

http://lakesidequilting.blogspot.com/2013/11/shop-cat-update.html

Friday, November 01, 2013. Today we were able to catch one of the little guys I talked about in my last post.so meet Jay, the new shop cat! He's been to the vet and gotten a clean bill of health. The vet figures he's about 4 weeks old and he weighs in at a whopping 1.8 pounds. He was purring so loudly that the vet couldn't hear his heart. She thinks that the mother is no longer with the kittens because he was dirty.see that little ring of dirt around his nose? Oh my gosh, hes adorable! Awww, hes so cute!

Sunday, February 24, 2013. I'm quite late in choosing a winner for this book.bet you thought I forgot all about it! The random number selector chose Ruth's comment as the winner, so I've already contacted her and the book will be off to her house in the morning. Thanks to everyone for leaving a comment! Lakeside Quilting: June 2013

Sunday, June 09, 2013. Working on my Short List. It's been awhile since I had a short list post, so it must be time! Every year, Pennington Quilt Works sends a 20% off coupon to be used the month of your birthday. Last year I used it to get to get the fabric and pattern for this quilt. The pattern was Sherbet Stars by Cotton Way. This one, although I had planned on keeping it, went to my daughter Ellen. She fell in love with it and who was I to say no? So, one down from my short list! Book Schnibbles Tim...

IRISHLAKEQUILTER: What's On My Wall and More.........

http://irishlakequilter.blogspot.com/2011/01/whats-on-my-wall-and-more.html

Snippets and quilts, family, pets and friends. Thursday, January 27, 2011. What's On My Wall and More. What is on my "wall" today? This picture shows the start of a 4000 piece quilt that I am making for Michael's girlfriend, Jen. Since the photo was taken, I've increased the number of blocks to over 30 (there are 200)in the quilt and I may reduce that to a number less than the 200. These little blocks take a long time to make and accuracy, as I'm learning rapidly, if of utmost importance! Watermark templ...

IRISHLAKEQUILTER: September 2008

http://irishlakequilter.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html

Snippets and quilts, family, pets and friends. Thursday, September 11, 2008. Not a thing comes to mind for a title on this post. Summer is winding down, much to my dismay. Everything is coming all at once and my blog has taken back seat. Do I make kits and put them all together and schlep those to and fro? I try to do the latter, but that elusive piece of fabric is always at the other end! Retreat - it's that time already! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). IRISHLAKEQUILTER: Christmas

http://irishlakequilter.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas.html

Snippets and quilts, family, pets and friends. Sunday, December 26, 2010. We awoke to 8" of new snow this morning - totally surprised us all! We jokingly laughed at the predictions that had been on TV for the past few days because it had not hit us by last night. It is truly gorgeous out there! A cardinal or a deer amongst the trees would make a wonderful Christmas card photo for next year. Here's a shot from a few days ago. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! IRISHLAKEQUILTER: June 2008

http://irishlakequilter.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Snippets and quilts, family, pets and friends. Monday, June 30, 2008. Sunday mornings are meant to be low-key, quiet and relaxing.right? E sewing machine (his birthday present to me for my 34th) and brought it home. It is rusting in places, but I am a firm believer in persistence. I doused it with WD-40, got out the Q-tips and some rags and went at it. It isn't very good yet, but it runs! Links to this post. Thursday, June 19, 2008. A few days ago I told you about the challenge that Mary. In the picture,...

Riding The Orphan Train. A journey into making quilts from the leftover, unwanted and without a home pieces and quilt blocks. The 4:25 pm Pacific Northwest. Departing Chicago.heading west.come ride with us. Saturday, December 6, 2014. Even on the Orphan Train, everything is not an orphan. The 5.5" fence rail blocks are a leader/ender project. It's boring. I have 52 done, do I want to go on, well? But I had a "lightbulb" moment while sewing.what if I alternate them with a "crumbs" block? I like this idea!

This "begun" has grown. This humble beginning, mostly Em's.has been growing quite nicely also. Give it a try during your play time. As you say, this is PLAY time.

Sheilas father began raising Pomeranians in the early 1960s. We added the Beagles shortly after we met in 2001. If you have found my web site you must be looking for a longarm quilter. My name is Malissa Williams and I love to quilt! For decades, individual quilters have labored for months or years, or relied on quilting bees, to produce fine quality finished quilts. Although these methods are still in use, many quilt lovers are too busy with work, home, and recreational activities to devote the time needed to quilt those beautiful quilt tops. I’ll work with you to complete your project! Crane Hill, AL 35053-3337.
