A Librarian's Lists & Letters: List #267: Reaons I Dislike April
http://www.librarianlistsandletters.com/2015/04/list-267-reaons-i-dislike-april.html
List #267: Reaons I Dislike April. There are a lot of good things that happen in April. Mostly some of the people I love the most were born this month. And I always enjoy celebrating the birthdays of loved ones. But I'm coming clean with a dirty little secret, I hate April. In fact, it might just be my least favorite month. April is the worst, here's why. Trying to remember to pack an umbrella nearly every day of the week. Always feeling sticky and damp. There are no good hair days in April.

List #239: The Chills. Things that happened and things that don't happen when you're stuck on the couch or in bed, sick, for a few days on end:. Hours of Parks and Recreation. Emails sent to coworkers. The depths of Netflix. 10 hours of sleep. Backaches from too much couch time. Lots and lots of garbage. Hours of How I Met Your Mother. Soup deliveries from coworkers. This pretty much sums up the whole weekend. So here's to a healthy week. Letter #56: Writing Through Time. But when we do ignore the alarms...
A Librarian's Lists & Letters: July 2014
http://www.librarianlistsandletters.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
List #251: The Family Vacation. It's a vacation that I'm greatly looking forward to and one that I feel I've earned with the hectic summer schedule I've been living with since June. Ditto for the boyfriend who is running just as ragged as me. Though my family may or may not have gone on a family vacation every summer, it certainly feels that way in my memories. Vacations were weeks that felt endless, filled with surprise and excitement, and really that's all I want for our family vacations too. In high s...

A Librarian's Lists & Letters: List #268: Our House is a Very Fine House
http://www.librarianlistsandletters.com/2015/05/list-268-our-house-is-very-fine-house.html
List #268: Our House is a Very Fine House. It's been a busy spring around here. A lot of birthdays to celebrate, occasions to attend, work has stepped into high gear, and we bought a house. This our home now. Tucked behind some great, big evergreens and a backyard with enough room to play. A porch to read and grill on, and big windows to watch the rain. But you could say we are a bit in love. Here's what's been happening in the first few weeks of living here:. We lost a cat. Then found a cat.

For me, reading. Feels like slipping into a beautiful, loved piece of clothing. These poems are carefully crafted artifacts that examine memory, emotion and experience through a unique lens but at the same time there is something wonderfully familiar about the way that the poems come together. Great advice while working with teens. December 29, 2016. School librarian K.C. Boyd was featured in November’s. 8220;A Leader for Readers.”. She ended her wonderful article with a list of advice from her father that has carried her through her career. List #273: Those Princely Memories. And when midday news broke that the legendary Prince had died these dance parties were one of the first things I remembered. Being in your mid-30s means you really can't remember a time in your life without Prince. Being a 30-something year-old woman means you probably find Prince completely sexually attractive. And and it probably means you're going to spend the upcoming weekend dancing. Besides basement dance parties, Prince was there:. Of course you do. Take a f...
