NPC in the Media. Niemann Pick C in the media. There are many ways to handle a situation like ours. We chose to be very open about Mael’s disease. We took our and Mael’s story to the public, trying to make something happen and make people aware of it. Interest in Mael’s story seems to be very high. The knowledge is almost too much to bear, and every day and night the sorrow and pain lie over all of our lives. Maels symptoms at the age of 5 years. Gross motor skill problems. Fine motor skill problems. In spite of everything, a cheerful and happy child. The drug Zavesca as only chance in the race against time.

NPC in the Media. Solidarity pin - a heart for children with rare diseases. Mael’s name is Celtic and means "Prince. When Mael was a baby we dressed him in a frog costume, and our little prince looked so adorable in it. Now that costume has taken on a very special meaning: it is the design for a solidarity pin. The pin should be worn as a symbol of solidarity for Mael and all children with rare diseases. A heart for children with rare diseases - that's the simple message of this pin.
