A retired school teacher hits the road. 2010 November →. July 22, 2012. We left Austin on Friday October 1. And made it back to Forest City (Iowa) by Sunday evening, as planned. WAY too much driving in a short period of time! Then we got to Forest City in time for the warmest first week of October they’ve had in many years. We left Lakewood, CA at 4am on Friday June 26. (The 4am departure was so that Dave could leave some parting “gifts” on the Starbuck’s doorstep for his to-be-missed co-workers.) It was such a busy October we just wanted some time to catch up with ourselves. But first we had to make a “quick trip” to Las Vegas for Dave’s older son’s wedding on November 4. A retired school teacher hits the road. 2012 January →. July 31, 2012. We left Pennsylvania and drove thorough Ohio. We stopped for the weekend in Dayton to re-visit Dave’s high school friend – again they were great hosts! Just a few more hours and we would have made it to Bloomington! A retired school teacher hits the road. 2011 March →. July 31, 2012. Hard to believe it could get this cold in Arizona! The grandkids were so much fun. They kept us hopping to say the least! Emma loved to climb and we caught her doing just that one afternoon. She climbed up on the board next to her bed and just casually laid on top of it watching TV. She looked sooo comfortable! Tyler always found something cute to do to keep us laughing…. This is Dave’s “Willy Nelson” look. The view on the way back down.

Sunday, April 1, 2012. To the right, is a Christmas project- for a change, i am starting early. Next, is meghan's scarf; halfway done! I posted two, because i was not sure that the beautiful kelly green color was coming through. Erin's scarf is about a 1/4 done. it is chunkier yarn, using larger needles- but i think will keep her really warm on walks with charlie in the cold winter! Again, meghan's scarf, 1/2 way done.
