Navigating Modern Life

Wednesday, October 22, 2014. If to Bolt, Would Bolt with Ned. Finished the last of my classes for the year and have a five month break. The next class in my series is not until March. This graduate degree, being online, has a crazy, not traditional schedule that took a bit of getting used to. First, each class had 1 - 5 (the latter, obnoxious) required texts plus books needed for research. These varied in price from $15 to $325. Being a thrifty gal, I was determined to pay as little as possible a...This ...

Navigating Modern Life: October 2013

http://navigatingtheperilsofmodernlife.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Monday, October 28, 2013. I have the Halloween decorations out and the pumpkin is inexpertly carved and lit on the front step. Candy has been bought - and for now is safely stored in the linen closet - otherwise I would eat it. All is ready for the big night. On Sunday my little neighbor informed me that I would never guess what his costume would be - this after he told me his Dad bought him a big, red pitchfork. So priceless and adorable. Each year I put my childhood copy -. Out on the coffee table.

Navigating Modern Life: January 2013

Sunday, January 13, 2013. Misty Grey and Drunken Chicken. All weekend here was grey, misty, and sunless. As I did the field walk, I felt sure that I would run into Daphne du Maurier who used to wander her beloved moors for hours. Read more about her moor wandering. In this good book. Or, that I would run into the Hound of the Baskervilles. It was that kind of weekend weather wise. I had been given Bunny Williams'. An Affair with a House. Easy to make with. All the ingredients readily in the house.

Navigating Modern Life: September 2013

http://navigatingtheperilsofmodernlife.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 26, 2013. Today I thought that I would treat myself to lunch and drove to a very pretty shopping center. It is clear that a lot of thought was put into the design of the place because it is very colonial and in keeping with the overall tenor of the town. It is quite nice with beautiful and well tended landscaping. I. T was all so attractive that I practically skipped from my car in anticipation. Discreetly placed behind a boxwood. The sound from this one assaults not only. So last wee...

Navigating Modern Life: December 2012

http://navigatingtheperilsofmodernlife.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 29, 2012. Long Night Moon, Snow Shoes, and Thank Yous. The last full moon of the year or the long night moon was Friday night. The light from the moon and the blanket of snow made it luminous out. We headed out to the field with Puppy Weston to go snow shoeing. Puppy Weston, the Moon and Field -. Like the "luster of midday". Taken without a flash at about 8:00 pm -. It looked like the moon itself. Tracking neighbors who wear. At the side of the field near the woods. Soupe a l' oignon,.

Navigating Modern Life: November 2013

http://navigatingtheperilsofmodernlife.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Wednesday, November 27, 2013. The house has quieted after a bevy of Thanksgiving Eve activity. As I sit here typing, the kitchen is redolent of the leftover sage, rosemary, and thyme that someone arranged in a bowl and put on the kitchen table. So tonight was a perfect example of the great abundance in my life. We ate and talked, chopped and remembered, peeled and laughed. I always love the happy sound of friends and family in my house. Take it away Bing. A favorite tune for the season and always. Those ...

Navigating the Nuances

In the wilds known as the 20s, there is no sure pathway to self, adulthood, or the clear vision of just what life should "look" like. This is my first attempt to capture the observations, experiences, inspirations, and complete mishaps that shape my personal journey as a modern female with old fashioned quirks. And, well, if sometimes my mishaps outnumber my insights, I hope my antics charm you. Monday, November 18, 2013. My inspiration this week (and yes, this season, since I have neglected Nuances.

Navigating the Path toward Parenthood

Navigating the Path toward Parenthood. Wednesday, September 10, 2008. A few days ago, T and I broke the news to my mother. Over breakfast, we said we had some news. Her eyes shone, and she started to smile. It was clear she thought she knew what we were going to say. No, don't get excited," I said. "This isn't good news.". At that, her thoughts went to the worst case scenario. "Should I get out some Kleenex? No, it's not bad news, either. It's just - we are starting IVF.". Links to this post. T and I met...

Like a headless chicken on a sugar high. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Laissez les bon temps roulez….Let the good times roll. September 13, 2014. There are moments in life when a person just needs to just let loose, be crazy and blow off steam; while enjoying life to its absolute fullest. Nowhere on earth can this be accomplished any better than Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Which these days may equate to petroleum fuems). The story of a girl navigating her twenties. Sunday, October 11, 2009. Is my watch time for my VERY FIRST MARATHON! My chip time is 4:38, either way, I am beyond thrilled). So, let me tell you all about it! Garry, with my time). So, I've been talking about it for months and training really hard for the past 18 weeks. I didn't miss a single workout and made a serious commitment. I used the bathroom and met with my Geico. She had stopped for a long water break when I must have passed her. And encouragement...

Saturday, May 16, 2015. Life and other oddites. Me: Wow, you're starting to look like me. Me: Yes, we have the same eyes, nose, and chin. L: No, we don't have the same chin. Me: What do you mean? Of course we do. L; No we don't, yours is furry and mine isn't. Me: Ah.uh huh. Well she's observant and sadly honest. Me: I'm going to call the police if you don't get out of bed. L: No you're not. Clomid – Cyle 1, Day 1. October 5, 2008 at 1:40 pm Posted in Uncategorized. I took the first clomid pill today and will take the second pill later tonight. Side effects that may be caused are hot flashes, ovarian enlargement, breast tenderness, headache, nervousness, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, and temporary visual disturbances. So far I do not feel anything, other than a slight lightheadedness. I’ll see if it goes away or gets worse with the second pill. Clomid and Artificial Insemination.

Navigating the Rope

Finding balance on the tight rope of life. Monday, February 27, 2012. I can’t lift weights………I don’t want to get bulky. The following guest post is from Kevin Brookshire, a Recreation Ministry Leader and Fitness Enthusiast. One of the greatest misconceptions is that if you lift weights you will instantly get huge and look like a professional body builder - male or female. The thing missed is that resistance training, lifting weights, is one of the greatest ways to slim down and burn fat. I often feel as ...
