Navigating the Quarterlife: August 2009
http://navigatingthequarterlife.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
The story of a girl navigating her twenties. Monday, August 31, 2009. I own one tube of waterproof mascara. And use it only for high-crying probability events. Weddings, greeting new babies, graduation, funerals. This summer, my waterproof mascara has been used far too many times. And not, for the happy crying events- like weddings and babies. Unfortunately, its been for the bad events- the funerals and hospital visits. I need a Xanex. Time again for Not Me! In case you haven't been introduced to Not Me!
Navigating the Quarterlife: December 2008
http://navigatingthequarterlife.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
The story of a girl navigating her twenties. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. A Story About Boy. Since I talk about Boy so much, I figured I'd tell you little anecdote. About him, so you could have something to visualize whenever I talk about him. Boy grew up in a very small, one-stop-light town in the western part of the state, the part that all those hick jokes come from. His school was closed the first day of hunting season and his rival high school had a "bring your tractor to school day." (I sware. Me: S...

I didnot soothe myself with hershey kisses and chocolate covered raisins. I would never ever use chocolate to make myself feel better. I did not take a mental health day and ...

The story of a girl navigating her twenties. Monday, March 30, 2009. Time for another dose of free therapy.in the form of Not Me! Monday. In case you haven't been introduced to Not Me! Monday, yet, here are a few details. This fun game originated with MckMama. Here are the rules. To playing, but in sum, you just list a lot of things you "didn't" (read: actually did) do this weekend/past week. All in the name of admitting that we all make mistakes and aren't perfect. I am not getting royally screwed over ...

From Anxiety to Zen. A former anxious girl's journey through holistic healing. Monday, October 11, 2010. I've been totally engulfed in everyone's recap of the 10.10.10 chicago marathon. i follow many bloggers and have read a lot of their journeys. to some of them being marathon veterans to others losing their marathon virginity! And it's been so exciting! Something if i didn't think i could automatically master it. And i used to think nothing was worse than if i was teaching a balancing sequence and i ju...

Every now and then i tune out of technology. i don't blog a lot, or comment on other blogs, or even tweet or facebook much. these time outs are something i brought into my life when i see myself becoming a little too dependent on them : insert blushing, embarrassed emoticon here:. And here's my question of the day: why do you yoga? So, as you can see (at this point her eyes were glazing over) people...

Navigating the Path toward Parenthood
Navigating the Path toward Parenthood. Wednesday, September 10, 2008. A few days ago, T and I broke the news to my mother. Over breakfast, we said we had some news. Her eyes shone, and she started to smile. It was clear she thought she knew what we were going to say. No, don't get excited," I said. "This isn't good news.". At that, her thoughts went to the worst case scenario. "Should I get out some Kleenex? No, it's not bad news, either. It's just - we are starting IVF.". Links to this post. T and I met...

Navigating Modern Life
Wednesday, October 22, 2014. If to Bolt, Would Bolt with Ned. Finished the last of my classes for the year and have a five month break. The next class in my series is not until March. This graduate degree, being online, has a crazy, not traditional schedule that took a bit of getting used to. First, each class had 1 - 5 (the latter, obnoxious) required texts plus books needed for research. These varied in price from $15 to $325. Being a thrifty gal, I was determined to pay as little as possible a...This ...

Like a headless chicken on a sugar high. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Laissez les bon temps roulez….Let the good times roll. September 13, 2014. There are moments in life when a person just needs to just let loose, be crazy and blow off steam; while enjoying life to its absolute fullest. Nowhere on earth can this be accomplished any better than Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Which these days may equate to petroleum fuems). The Bloody Marys are spicy enough without challenging the bar t...

Navigating the Rope
Finding balance on the tight rope of life. Monday, February 27, 2012. I can’t lift weights………I don’t want to get bulky. The following guest post is from Kevin Brookshire, a Recreation Ministry Leader and Fitness Enthusiast. One of the greatest misconceptions is that if you lift weights you will instantly get huge and look like a professional body builder - male or female. The thing missed is that resistance training, lifting weights, is one of the greatest ways to slim down and burn fat. I often feel as ...

Navigating the Rutz
Learning how to navigate the "Rutz" of life's winding road. Wednesday, November 13, 2013. The first challenge was finding crafts that wouldn't take too long because I was trying to squeeze three crafts, socializing, and eating into a few hours. I also needed crafts that wouldn't make a big mess. Lastly, I wanted crafts that would use some materials our group already has on hand. Sounds easy, right? The first craft I had been dying to do was make jewelry! Who doesn't like jewelry? I gave all the warnings ...
