The cost of holding meetings, producing information leaflets, developing and hosting a website, and relevant expenses etc etc are all met by individuals paying for it themselves and donations. We do not receive any government grants. At present we can receive donations in 3 ways;. Bring your donation along to one of our meetings. People with PKU are unable to break down an amino acid called phenylalanine (phe). This is a natural substance found in food; a building block of protein, but in people with PKU, phe builds up in the blood and in the brain and can cause serious problems.
