The Produce Box Experiment. April 10, 2011 at 9:45 AM · Filed under Contents. I’m working away on this week’s box, as well as finishing up some tasty strawberry jam. I’ll write more about both later, but in the meantime…. Rel="bookmark" title="Permanent link to Turnips Time" class="permalink" Permalink. 2 Comments ». April 21, 2011 @ 8:40 AM. Thanks for this site as I often have to find something to do with turnips. I’ve found Mr. Neep pretty helpful too. June 1, 2011 @ 8:16 PM. Thank you for the comment!
D-Day | The Produce Box Experiment
https://producebox.wordpress.com/2011/06/01/d-day
The Produce Box Experiment. June 1, 2011 at 7:51 PM · Filed under Blueberries. Today is June first and the first day of the New Orleans Eat Local Challenge 2011. The basic premise of The Challenge is that you only eat foods grown and prepared within 200 miles of New Orleans. I decided that this would tie-in nicely with my attempt to eat mainly from my Hollygrove. For breakfast I had Bittersweet Plantation. So what did I learn today? I need to eat different foods (nutritionally) and probably a little bit ...

The Produce Box Experiment. Fava Beans, English Beans, Pole Beans. April 30, 2011 at 9:31 PM · Filed under Fava Beans. I got a large handful of fava beans (or English beans, or pole beans or whatever else you’d like to call them) in today’s produce box. This combined with the leftovers from last week’s box, left me with about 2 lbs. (Note: I have been bad about the produce box, and even worse about writing about it, but the main reason I didn’t do anything with the fava beans last week? If carriers are e...

Our Produce Box
We do with all this produce? Saturday, October 23, 2010. Friends, I apologize for my absence here. My camera is broken! A disaster for a food blogger! Searching through old photos, I found this (not-so-great) one of my favorite autumn dinner: stuffed acorn squash. Today a brisk wind is blowing the leaves from the trees, the sun is shining, the air is crisp: this dish is a perfect match. Enjoy this autumn meal while I figure out this camera mess! Receipe below; printable version here. Next, take inventory...
