Recent Training and the NMTC Wednesday Night Races. I have also run in two of the recent Wednesday night races as part of my normal training plan. At a cost of only $1, they are a great way to do a speed workout on some of the trails in our area with other people from the running community. Run with Feeling: Arizona and the Coldwater Rumble
http://runwithfeeling.blogspot.com/2012/01/arizona-and-coldwater-rumble.html
Thursday, January 26, 2012. Arizona and the Coldwater Rumble. Around 60 runners lined up at the starting line for the 50k. We started the race in partial darkness and cool temperatures in the 40s. I had high hopes of finishing well in this race, so when the gun went off, I started out quickly and joined the lead pack of about 6 runners, one of whom was Hypo. If the course wasn't extremely rocky, then we were usually running in old river beds which were sandy washes. They were like running on a beach ...

Wednesday, May 12, 2010. How come I have to leave St. Cloud when it starts to get nice? Jon and I were at a picnic at Riverside Park a couple of weeks ago. It's so pretty there. We were out at Jon's Mom's farm last week. One of the many outside cats had kittens. Out at the farm this guy is my favorite inside cat, even though I'm allergic and he makes me itchy. Such a cute face. I came across an ad that boasted to have a velociraptor proof house. It caught my attention because I do get Jurassic Park d...

June: December 2010
http://idahofirefly.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 06, 2010. Looks like winter is definitely here, it was a really nice autumn. The bike riding was good, not too hot and the trees full of color. Jon grew lots of pickles and 15 pumpkins out at his Mom's farm so that meant lots of pumpkin carving and baking pumpkin seeds. We were on a streak for baking apple pies for awhile, too, our favorite was using the Honeycrisp apple. I have a new niece, Cadel Cameron, she's named after Cadel Evans. I saw Gumby on the street, I love Gumby.

Saturday, August 25, 2012. Jon and I went to a Twins game with the interns that were at the lab this summer. Me and Lea with some of her family, Lea is on the far left. Lea is a former running teammate when we used to live in New Mexico and run under Coach Mike Daney. She's Navajo (Dine), she's got running in her blood. She's also the one person that I can randomly text quotes from Ghost. And she'll shoot one right back at ya. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). There was an error in this gadget.

June: Bonkers
http://idahofirefly.blogspot.com/2012/06/bonkers.html
Tuesday, June 26, 2012. I was a little star struck I suppose. I had my phytolith poster up for poster sessions and got some good feedback. I didn't get a chance to see a lot of the flood destruction personally but my family had some pictures from the neighborhood. There were no shortage of photos online and of course drama about the polar bear at the Duluth Zoo and seal swimming on Grand Ave. I feel bad for all the animals that perished at the zoo, too. Hwy 23 by Mont du Lac ski area. I was wondering how...

June: Happy Ground Hog's Day
http://idahofirefly.blogspot.com/2012/02/happy-ground-hogs-day.html
Thursday, February 02, 2012. Happy Ground Hog's Day. Getting ready for a swim after a long day of field work. Filtering water samples at the hotel room. A few times we had to rely on friendly people allowing us to access lakes through their private property. This gentleman bent over backwards allowing us to use his Gator to get into the lake, we wouldn't have been able to get in otherwise. Best cheap breakfast find on the road, we ate 3 times at a cafe when we stayed in Willmar. Where did this year go?

http://idahofirefly.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 14, 2013. It's that time of the year where patience runs thin when we get a new layer of snow. I'm just glad I got in a nice little ride yesterday. I subscribed to Cycling.tv to keep me sane, too. I miss living in the same state as her, sad. So I guess I need to find a place to do lap swim. Bunkhouse where we stayed at the state park, on stilts. Oil rig, you could see a number of oil rigs on the horizon, too. Jon getting a picture of a dolphin. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
