Carrying a big stick not required. Things my brain does to amuse itself. January 15, 2010 in Uncategorized. It might be possible to do this in a scholarly manner. Work to determine the first print usage of “shredded” describing physique, search for use of related adjectives in the same article, trace them backwards, etc. But this is inconvenient whilst one is brushing teeth. Here we have a track back to another word in the fitness lexicon! Pause to spit toothpaste. But no, really, while this is surel...

Over breakfast Juliette wanted to know what my plans were for the day. “Eh, not much….run, do rock rings, eat, go listen to the freshman orientation pre-law talk. That takes me up to 3 PM.” “How about after that? I am so darn driven, the idea of taking a nap as a viable activity would never cross my mind. August 21, 2008 in Uncategorized. It’s official… | Walk Softly

https://walksoftly.wordpress.com/2010/03/26/its-official

Carrying a big stick not required. It’s official…. March 26, 2010 in Uncategorized. I have two campus visits scheduled at top-notch DC Schools: Georgetown Day School, and Highland School in Northern Virginia. As much as one can tell about people from a 30 minute interview, I think I’d be happy working with either of their faculty. This has been a really good day, and it’s not even 5 PM. Fabulous. Phew. Ready for a beer. On a related note, the professional website is now live. Click here.

No looking back, no so here’s what I’ve been doing for the last seven months. Sometimes one just has to dive back in or it can’t be done. I am making headway. Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make money. Yet you do not even know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? Pan-Handling For Tampons | Elen Took's Weblog

Elen Took’s Weblog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Laquo; A Post for Rosi. An Existential Criticism of the Drinking Age. March 12, 2010 by ecamarata. Today, Rosi and I decided to visit the High Museum of Art. It was in the ladies room that the going got tough. And it would happen to me: stuck in the middle of down-town Atlanta, my purse naively empty of tampons, and me in desperate need of something to staunch my feminine flow. Hoping for some sort of brilliant miracle, like a sudden heavenly shower ...

Well, it looks like my three-posts-a-week utopian goal isn’t happening this week, but for two goodish reasons. Okay, I still could have managed it, but I’ll call these the reasons anyway to make myself feel more respectable. It’s like saying “Geez, I was going to be on time, but there was so much. Hope your apocalypse was rapturous!

March is beginning to look dingy here and the best way to spruce up a snowy yard is to add snow. But no wind, please. I want to put away my hat with the ear flaps. The Heels–I know! In Durham on the 17th, and I won’t be here. Bother! This is what happens when I book every weekend either with money-making or gallivanting schemes. The low hum of a car in the distance. The soft shuffling of a cat's toes on the wet alley pavement.
