Room with a view. Thursday, April 06, 2006. It's been awhile since I last blogged. Many things have happened. I have just discovered podcasts. Yeah . I'm a little slow in keeping up with progress. I wanted to get podcasts of my favourite radio program, the Shebang from TripleM, which I always listen to on my drive home. As I don't have a radio at home, I might give this podcast thing a go. From New Jersey, USA. I encourage you, whether you are single, in a relationship or in a marriage, to search for thi...

Room with a view. Sunday, November 06, 2005. That silly silly spider from yesterday night . a very persistent little critter. Must be a nocturnal spider as the web's up again at about 11pm. While the spider's having a photo shoot, I'm getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. The price to pay for art. :). Posted by willandjean at 1:47 AM. Friday, November 04, 2005. I suppose if someone's really scared of them . they might not do that cos there's no telling where that spider might be. On my car perhaps &...Poste...

Room with a view. Saturday, October 29, 2005. Sydney Good Food Month 2005. I've missed out on Sydney's Good Food Month. This year. Previously when I was working in the city, I'd be able to check out some of the events in the city and even sample some restaurants at the price of $25 then. I heard that it's now $35 for the ' Let's do Lunch. Series. Inflation I suppose . 40% increase in 3 years? Today there's a Sydney Food and Wine Fair. Posted by willandjean at 9:28 AM. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Not far from my place is an incredible toy museum. It specialises in tin toys, automata (animated toys) and German wooden toys - especially nutcrackers. It seems strange that Arima, a famous onsen town, would be home to these beautiful little objects. but seeing as I'm only a few kilometres away, I'm not complaining! This is an example of automata. They involve winding a handle to make a scene come to life - often with humorous results. This one isn't funny, just quirky...Did I...

Lest you think that all I care about is stuff like plastic knick knacks, novelty cars and different coloured trees, I thought it was about time I introduce some more people to you! The Sanda school team. They are a really great bunch! But I've never worked somewhere with such a high turnover. I guess that doesn't usually bode well! Oh well. 3 of the people in the picture will be gone as of the end of this year and 2 have started since I have! Yes, that's a pumpkin on my head&#4...

I had a funny weekend a week ago, hitting the town in Osaka on a Saturday night for the first time! I'm too lame/timid to confront people - I guess I should have said something, but I just gave a very unimpressed response as he cracked himself up next to me. Saturday, March 25, 2006. Well, true to form, these shots are really outdated - from before Christmas! Sorry, I know they aren't photos of rotund, semi-nude men as promised, but I don't have time right now to sift through all the images, upload and format them etc. It's tempting, but I would be a very tired fool tomorrow if I started. Monday, October 31, 2005. It's interesting to see what the kids I teach are into. They bring little things into class - the usual. Type things hanging off their bags and mobiles. Mr. Must be fabulously wealthy. Often a kid will have 2 that are married to each other. Yes, married! You feed them, take them to the toilet, put them to bed, rear them and send them off to be married and reproduce. One girl has an eighth generation. I like it when conclusions aren’t jumped to, co-ordinates aren’t set, borders aren’t bristling with patrols, hearts aren’t set in stone and minds haven’t turned to goo. I like it when we’re unconvinced and curious, courageous and intriguing, entirely smitten and taking it all with a hefty pinch of salt. Work and play with the creative edge, where what we think we know is questioned, where who we thought we were gives way to who we are becoming. I like to challenge preconceptions. I live to learn.
