Ruminations and Regurgitations

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Okay I admit that I am excited that baseball season has started. The Seattle Mariners began yesterday with a win; so for now at least I rejoice over a team that is in first place and undefeated. Closer to home, my son's little league team has their first game this week too. Is that something you hope for? After one of the most di...

Ruminations and Regurgitations: Aslan Rescues Eustace from Himself

http://www.ruminationsandregurgitations.blogspot.com/2010/03/aslan-rescues-eustace-from-himself.html

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Friday, March 26, 2010. Aslan Rescues Eustace from Himself. Recently, I was reminded me of the scene in. The Chronicles of Narnia. Where Eustace recounts his encounter with Aslan, when Aslan frees him from being a dragon. His description captures the notion of repentance and transformation powerfully. Do you recall this part of the story?

Ruminations and Regurgitations: Lent Thoughts

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Friday, March 26, 2010. At the start of Lent, I started posting on Facebook quotes on repentence that I had been reflecting on. Eventually, I started including reflections on love and grace too. As a way to save them and perhaps include fuller texts, I figure I'll post them here too. We must ask whether we have not often been deceiving ourselves with ou...

Ruminations and Regurgitations: January 2008

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Thursday, January 31, 2008. Question of the Day: Who gets to choose your religion? Two very different news stories this week have raised the question about who decides what religion a person might be. One I read in the. The second story involves an Egyptian man named Muhammad Hegazy. So, how do you understand your conversion? What did you do? God contin...

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Tuesday, April 29, 2008. And So It Ends; And So It Begins. It's been waaaay too long since I've posted. So, in a somewhat desparate effort to keep this somewhat current, I'm reprinting here an article on our Guatemala Mission trip from the May 2008 Marine View Press. Hopefully, more will be forthcoming soon! And yet, the mission is not completely over.

Ruminations and Regurgitations: Did You See Him?

http://www.ruminationsandregurgitations.blogspot.com/2010/04/did-you-see-him.html

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Monday, April 5, 2010. Did You See Him? But that wonderful story also makes me ask, "How often am I standing face to face with the Master and I totally miss him? How often does Jesus go unrecognized in my day-to-day life? By way of illustration, I shared this story:. So I continue to ruminate. What would I have done? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

http://sabinsaga.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Monday, August 25, 2008. What family album would be complete without the ultimate bath time photos to show off to the future boyfriend or girlfriend. Anyhow, I think Rob got as wet as the kids did. And here's the double mohawk shot. Posted by Rob Sabin. A bad day fishing is better than a good day working, right? Here's the otter. Not so great a shot but he was a cute little fella. Sabin Saga: Ice Dam on the River

http://sabinsaga.blogspot.com/2008/07/ice-dam-on-river.html

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Tuesday, July 22, 2008. Ice Dam on the River. This is the Des Moine River completely frozen over in early March. And then a week later this was the same river. The ice broke up and formed these ice dams. This lasted for 24 hours. The river was clear on the next day. Amazing! Glad we took the photos when we did. Some of these chunks of ice were about 1.5 to 2 feet thick. And yes, this flag is in the middle of the river. Posted by Rob Sabin.

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Here's our little Becca cute as can be. Playing dress up at daycare where she goes a couple mornings a week. Here's Levi, our little man and hot chocolate connaisseur. Rather distinguished look I think with the stache and goat. Here we are geocaching. It's one of our favorite outdoor activities. Posted by Rob Sabin. I love that my green sweater is in the background in the hot chocolate picture!

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Tuesday, July 22, 2008. This was Levi on Palm Sunday. All the kids walked the palm branches down the center aisle of the church but Levi didn't want to go by himself. This is Laurie who owns the daycare that Levi goes to a few mornings a week. These are from Easter morning. Doesn't Levi look handsome! He can be silly too! Posted by Rob Sabin. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sabin Boys at the Races. Ice Dam on the River.

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Tuesday, July 22, 2008. We first got to experience this from Becca (Boo) on April 4th when this video was shot. She has now upgraded this to headbanging in her car seat when we play music in the car. And I do mean headbanging.all the way from side to side in her seat. It makes us laugh every time. http://sabinsaga.blogspot.com/2008/08/bad-day-fishing.html

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Monday, August 25, 2008. A bad day fishing is better than a good day working, right? Well it's also a good way to get away from a bad day with the kids. It was so peaceful out there. I got to see an otter swimming around in the water and a blue herring come in for a landing. It doesn't get much better than that. Oh, and did I mention an awesome sunset. Here's the otter. Not so great a shot but he was a cute little fella.

A couple that had to travel 10,000 miles around the world to meet. Monday, August 25, 2008. Lost Island Water Park, that is. July 29th the Youth Group from our church went to the water slides and so did our whole family. The drive was about an hour long and rather uneventful. It helps to have a portable DVD player in the car. Don't leave home without it. Notice that Becca's new pasttime is taking off her left shoe and sock. Yep, in case you were wondering, we are still in Iowa. Posted by Rob Sabin.

Abyssal Depths

Saturday, July 9, 2011. Ode to the Lake. O Holy Mother of the Lake,. Embrace me in your loving arms,. Tell me tales, you never before have spake,. Of magical charms and faraway farms. O Holy Mother of the Lake,. Engulf me with your tender whispers,. O let me, your invigorating smell partake,. And heal all my wounds and blisters. O Holy Mother of the Lake,. Encompass me with your endearing calmness,. Whenever life seems tough and the world so fake,. I will keep returning to you for solace. The Child in Me.

Kendra's Ruminations and Ramblings

Kendra's Ruminations and Ramblings. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. From the innovative mind of John Green - another cancer story! July 28, 2015. The Fault is in Our Stars has all the ingredients of a sob-fest. And by that, I mean there’s not just one, but multiple dying kids with cancer. "Kids with cancer? And that this is also not a theme in the movie? Let me be boiled to death with melancholy" (If Mr. Green won't put Shakespeare to proper use, I will). Let's let those affected deal with it in peace. RUMINATIONS and RECKONINGS

Capturing thoughts and reflections on life. Jul 12, 2015. Field Trip to Missouri Star Quilt Company. Middot; 2 Comments. A few weeks ago by sister, brother-in-law, Dave and I took a day trip about an hour or so north of Kansas City to a small town called Hamilton, Missouri. Prior to 2008, this small town was best known for it’s most famous son, J.C. Penney, a retailer and philanthropist. I had become acquainted with the Missouri Star Quilt Company. What a story this small town now has! Jun 17, 2015.

Don at 75 | A wonderful life

Things to Think About. Everything is Connected to Everything Else. EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING ELSE. All despotisms, under whatever name they masquerade, are efforts to freeze history, to stop change, to solidify the human spirit. (Charles Austin Beard). In all of history the dynamics (read changes) of an age are marked not by stability but by the conflict between stability and change. Historically the ultimate winner is always change . In my humble opinion that is pathetic. Damned Neuters, in ...
