Nepal

Sunday, March 10, 2013. Language, Kathmandu and the Things I LOVE! Well I'm back in Kathmandu! This time for some intense language study. We will be here for a month working hard. We meet with our language teacher every day and I am enjoying it. The other thing we will work on is our research. My research will be about rites of passage in an ethnic group in Far West Nepal. I am excited to learn more about this and expand my knowledge on Nepal and its culture. I'm living my dream! Friday, January 11, 2013.

Sunday, January 30, 2011. Here is where I will be in NEPAL! Tuesday, January 18, 2011. He Gives Good Gifts. If He is such a "good God" then why did he let his little Alisha suffer. But ya see.now i know why he let me feel the pain.it pushed me to a place where I had to really find out what kind of god I decided I would serve. You know what I found out? You know what I hear him call me sometimes? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). He Gives Good Gifts. View my complete profile.

Sunday, July 17, 2011. Men sitting in temple area Patan Dubar Square, Lalitpur. The following pictures are from a field visit to remote Bajhang district, far west Nepal. My good friend Sunita and I in Chainpur.Bajhang's district headquarters. Notice the women carrying the huge load in the photo above. My room in Dadeldhura. Bumika and the new bakery sign. My homeowner, her daughter and her mother in law. This is the kitchen where I ate many meals. Where I dried my clothes. This is where I bathed.

Kendra's Ruminations and Ramblings

Kendra's Ruminations and Ramblings. Wednesday, 29 July 2015. From the innovative mind of John Green - another cancer story! July 28, 2015. The Fault is in Our Stars has all the ingredients of a sob-fest. And by that, I mean there’s not just one, but multiple dying kids with cancer. "Kids with cancer? And that this is also not a theme in the movie? Let me be boiled to death with melancholy" (If Mr. Green won't put Shakespeare to proper use, I will). Let's let those affected deal with it in peace. Can ...

Ruminations and Ramifications

Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Fortunate and prosperous are those who are not spiritually arrogant, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5:3, the Marcian Amplified Version of the NASB. Posted by Marcian @ 4:31 AM. Saturday, June 07, 2014. This is where I am right now. So, what is new. So, wow, THREE and a HALF days off! What does one DO with that time? Okay So now what? The profit I'm talking about is not of the fiduciary kind. The profit I refer to is spiritual. Learn Gregg Shorthand. Be fluent. After ...

RUMINATIONS and RECKONINGS

Capturing thoughts and reflections on life. Jul 12, 2015. Field Trip to Missouri Star Quilt Company. Middot; 2 Comments. A few weeks ago by sister, brother-in-law, Dave and I took a day trip about an hour or so north of Kansas City to a small town called Hamilton, Missouri. Prior to 2008, this small town was best known for it’s most famous son, J.C. Penney, a retailer and philanthropist. I had become acquainted with the Missouri Star Quilt Company. What a story this small town now has! Jun 17, 2015.

Ruminations and Regurgitations

A place for those on the journey with Jesus to share and ruminate on new ideas, and to regurgitate and process old ideas about life, faith, and ministry. Tuesday, April 6, 2010. Okay I admit that I am excited that baseball season has started. The Seattle Mariners began yesterday with a win; so for now at least I rejoice over a team that is in first place and undefeated. Closer to home, my son's little league team has their first game this week too. Is that something you hope for? After one of the most di...

Don at 75 | A wonderful life

Things to Think About. Everything is Connected to Everything Else. EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED TO EVERYTHING ELSE. All despotisms, under whatever name they masquerade, are efforts to freeze history, to stop change, to solidify the human spirit. (Charles Austin Beard). In all of history the dynamics (read changes) of an age are marked not by stability but by the conflict between stability and change. Historically the ultimate winner is always change . In my humble opinion that is pathetic. Damned Neuters, in ...

Ruminations of an Incremental Nature

Ruminations of an Incremental Nature. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. I spent the better part of the last two weekends with this lovely boy: Noah, my 5 year old grandson. Together we baked a few dozen cookies and some sweet breads for holiday gatherings, decorated the cabin and worked on Christmas cards. He also played with Legos while I took some time to work on my pile of grading. One of the best part of our two weekends was just watching him play with things he found around the house. I do not remember ev...
