http://www.leedingain.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
A naturalist struggling to survive in birdless Surrey. Published stuff and reviews. Jack Snipe encounters and patch ticks: 14 February. The highlight of an afternoon and evening session at the patch today was 7 Jack Snipe on Staines Moor, one bird in particular giving incredibly close views! Fascinating to watch their behaviour and take in the detail. 1 of at least 7 Jack Snipe seen today - I watched this bird for 45 minutes at a range of about a metre. In the NE corner (patch tick). FIELD NOTES: November 2014
http://birdingfieldnotes.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Friday, November 7, 2014. Finishing work at 12:30 on a Friday definitely has its benefits and I took full advantage today as I headed west from Surrey to Reculver Towers. In Kent. On arrival the reported ( Rare Bird Alert. Was hidden behind some rocks and with dark clouds threatening to stop play I felt somewhat un-optomistic. Luckily, my anxiety was exchanged for euphoria, as this scarce vagrant from North Africa made an appearance and gave me a few opportunities for a record shot! Other species of note.

http://devilbirder.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 19 March 2014. Lots and lots to be getting on with so just a quick catch up on what I've been up to this month. A trip to Scotland on 10th and 11th didn't go as well as planned, with a speeding ticket and no American Herring Gull in the Campbeltown area, although we did find the drake BLACK DUCK. At Strontian.Other highlights from the trip included two Snow Geese. And good numbers of Greenland White-fronted Geese. Drake Black Duck at Strontian with female Mallard.
